Welcome to our tri-weekly Intercessors' Prayer Guide for the State of Missouri. The strategy is to mobilize unified and focused prayer across the state that is aimed at just a few very specific targets.  The targets are corporate in nature.  They cover statewide, regional, city, national and inter-national issues that require the power of corporate agreement.  We will focus on these targets for three-week periods.  We believe there will be tremendous breakthrough as we siege these targets together for 21 day periods.

Intercessors’ Prayer Guide

June 14 – July 5 2010

 

Shalom Missouri Prayer Intercessors,

 

“In that day the LORD Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of His people.  He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.”  (Isaiah 28:5-6)

 

Hallelujah!  You are the ones who are crowned in His glory.  You are those who turn the battle at the gate and He is your source of strength today.  You are mighty in Him.

 

“Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”  (Ephesians 6:10-13)

 

Hallelujah!  Our LORD provides full coverage for His warriors.  Our armor is living and active – it is Jesus Himself, the living Word, Who covers us inside and out in every way.  Let us remember and rejoice in Him as our armor of Light.

 

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…………”  (Ephesians 6:14a)

 

Our focus for this Intercessors’ Guide is the Belt of Truth.  It is the first piece of armor mentioned.  It girds the very core of our being.

 

“Surely You desire truth in the inmost parts” (Psalm 51:6)

 

Satan’s frontline assault against us is through lies (Genesis 3:1-4).  If he can get us to believe his lies, then the door is opened for him to further assault us with stealing, killing and destruction because by believing lies we will certainly disobey God and come out of His protection.

 

The nation of Israel is the foremost prophetic picture of what is happening in the spiritual realm.  In the past two weeks, Israel has come under a worldwide attack of lies that rivals, if not surpasses, the darkness coming against her in Nazi Germany.  It is a good thing that we, as intercessors, took our stand for The Truth regarding Israel in the last Intercessors’ Guide.  It is definitely time for us to STAND FIRM WITH THE BELT OF TRUTH BUCKLED AROUND OUR WAIST.  There can be no compromise with deception.

 

“Jesus said, “Watch out that no one deceives you.”  (Matthew 24:4).

 

“If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples.  Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”  (John 8:31-32)

 

This is a time to wage war girded in the Truth and releasing the Truth into the spiritual realm through our declarations of the Word of God.  We must intercede for those who are being deceived by releasing the power of the Truth and praying earnestly that they will know the Truth and be set free.  Please refer to the previous Intercessors’ Guide (May 24 – June 14) regarding the nature of the intercessor and the depth of self-denial that places us in a high position on behalf of others.

 

The LORD’s heart and our hearts are one, and that is to see our state and nation filled with His Glory.  There is no deception in His Glory.  The Truth is Glorious!

 

Our siege for this three-week period is a siege of Truth. 

 

The Gatekeeper section contains two focal points.  We will continue to focus on Israel.  The LORD has also quickened a need to watch over our rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, springs and swimming pools of all sizes for the summer season.

 

The Foundational Decision section focus is on our third state-wide decision, which is for Truth.

 

The Portals of Glory section has a major focus on children.  During the summer there are many outreaches to children in the form of VBS, camps etc.  The LORD wants strong intercession over these potential Portals of Glory this summer.

"Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors that the King of Glory may come in.” (Psalm 24:1-6)

 

Gatekeeper Israel Focus

 

In the past two weeks, Israel has come under an unprecedented world-wide barrage of false accusations due to an incident involving a flotilla of “humanitarian aid” that attempted to break through Israel’s blockade of Gaza’s seaports.

 

One week before this incident we wrote in the last Intercessors’ Guide: 

 

Missouri Gatekeepers, it is time for us to take a unified and firm stand with the following Truth.  We chose the Spirit of Truth in our state with Foundational Decision #3!  Let us release the Spirit of Truth regarding the God’s relationship with the nation of Israel.  Proclaim this loud and clear:

 

“And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob.  And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.”  (Romans 11:26-27)

 

Please refer to the Gatekeeper section of the May 24 – June 14 Intercessors’ Guide and continue to release the other scriptures you find there for Israel.  Also please continue to pray the corporate prayer in that section.

 

It is essential that we release Truth in regard to Israel.  May we be informed and bold to inform others who are being deceived by all of the lies that are being released through the media.  You can find accurate news regarding Israel on www.watch.org. 

 

The following Psalm was given at the beginning of 2010 as the “Psalm of the Year” for Israel.  In light of the Gaza Flotilla incident, it is quite appropriate:

 

“If The LORD had not been on our side – let Israel say – If the LORD had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.  Praise be to The LORD, Who has not let us be torn by their teeth.  We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.  Our help is in the name of The LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”  (Psalm 124)

 

*Declare Psalm 124 over Israel.

 

STRENGTH OF THE BELIEVERS

 

“So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.”  (Isaiah 28:16)

 

The Believers in Israel, often referred to as The Messianic Body, are the first fruits of God’s promises to save all of Israel.  They are the ones who believe in the Precious Cornerstone.  Of course, they are the ones who are standing in the gap for Israel. 

 

*Pray Isaiah 28:5-6 for our brothers and sisters in Israel.

 

Finally, during these distressing times for Israel, let us all be encouraged by the end of the story:

 

“Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her.  For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.”  (Isaiah 66:10-11)

 

“For this is what the LORD says:

“I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.  As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.  When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to His servants, but His fury will be shown to His foes.”  (Isaiah 66:12-14)

 

 

Gatekeeper Summer Water Focus

 

“The earth is The LORD’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.”  (Psalm 24:1-2)

 

“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Revelation 22:1)

 

Missouri is blessed with two great rivers, The Mississippi which forms the eastern border of the state, and the Missouri River which flows from west to east through the state.  Missouri has more springs and free-flowing streams than any other state. 

 

The two great rivers and the multitude of springs and streams represent LIFE in various ways – both natural and spiritual.  We sense The LORD calling the Gatekeepers to watch over all of our waterways this summer.  Summer, of course, is a time of much recreational water activity.  However, almost every year we hear of at least one tragedy taking place in our waterways.  The LORD has been warning that the enemy is again looking for opportunities in this area.

 

In the late spring of 2007, Regina Shank led a team on a prayer journey that began at the source of the Missouri River and continued to where it meets the Mississippi River.  At the same time, James Nesbit was leading a team from the source of the Mississippi to the Gulf.  Other teams journeyed down every river that runs into the Mississippi.  The assignment was a “River Flush” – a cleansing of the waters through worship and intercession at strategic locations along the rivers. 

 

Right after the Missouri River Team had completed the Missouri River portion of the journey, there was a desperate young man in the St. Charles, MO area who decided to end his life by driving into the Missouri River.  However, he got stuck in mud near the river and was unable to complete his “mission”.  The LORD showed one of the intercessors who had been praying for the Team that because of the power of the prayer journey, a SHIELD went up between this young man and the river.  The intercessor heard The LORD say, “There will be no loss of life in this river – LIFE has been released into it.”   In addition to not losing his life in the river, this incident shook the young man to turn to The LORD after 17 years of drug and alcohol ad diction.  He is now completely delivered from the addictions and is enjoying life with his wife and young daughter. 

 

Hallelujah!  It is time to reinforce the work done in 2007 and building on that foundation, to take a pro-active stand for LIFE over every form of water in our state – even swimming pools.

 

“For this is what the LORD says: “I will extend peace to her like a river,” (Isaiah 66:12a)

 

Father, we come to You through the Blood of Jesus.  We give You Glory as the Creator and Redeemer of all life.  We thank You for the gift of the natural rivers, lakes, springs and streams that give such beauty, transportation, commerce, recreation and much more to our state.  We thank You that these natural waters represent Your plan for the spiritual atmosphere of our state as well.  We are equipped and called to be a well-watered, life-giving place where the Living Waters flow.  Father, we thank You that during the summer months these natural waterways provide opportunity for recreation, a place to meet You for fun and restoration.

 

Father, we also thank You for man-made swimming pools that provide refreshment in the hot summer.

 

Father, we thank You for the River Flush Prayer Journey of 2007 and all that was accomplished in The Spirit through it.  We thank You for those who gave time, finances, comfort and so much of themselves to make the journey.  We ask You to remember all of the Blood-bought worship and intercession that came before Your throne.  Now, Father, we tie our freshly offered worship and intercession into the journey that has gone before us.  Once again, we bring our rivers, and now also our streams, springs, lakes and even our swimming pools before You.    

 

Father, we confess to You that many sinful acts have been and continue to be committed on our waterways.  Father, You are rich in Mercy.  You reached out to us in Mercy while we were yet sinners and yet Your enemies.  We pray now for all those who will be on our rivers, in or near our lakes and streams and springs and swimming pools this summer.  Father, we ask Mercy for those who participate in sinful acts that would be an open door for the enemy to wreck havoc.  Father we release the voice and the power of The Blood of Jesus to cover all persons at all times on the water.  Father, perform miracles on the waters this summer.   Let it be a time for even those who are hostile to You to encounter You in an unmistakable way.

 

THROUGH THE BLOOD AND IN THE NAME OF JESUS, LET THERE BE LIFE IN THE WATERS OF MISSOURI THIS SUMMER.  AMEN.

 

“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”  (Amos 5:24)

 

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God”  (Psalm 46:4a)

 

“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.”  (Psalm 18:16)

 

 

2.  FOUNDATIONAL DECISION FOCUS:

 

On December 7, 2001 the third of five foundational spiritual decisions was made in Independence:

 

We choose the Spirit of Truth in our state and not the spirit of deception based on John 14.

 

As we shared in the opening comments of this Guide, the Truth is our foundational piece of armor and the Sword of The Spirit is the Truth of the Word.  Let us build upon the foundation of the decision for Truth. 

 

*Pray and decree the following scriptures:

 

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  (John 14:6)

Father, thank You that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  We declare that Jesus is LORD over Missouri and that the Truth of this scripture is our spiritual foundation.

 

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to with you forever – the Spirit of truth.”  (John 14:17a)

Father, we thank You for the precious Spirit of Truth that You have so graciously given to us.  Holy Spirit of Truth, You are welcome and You reign in our state.

 

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth.”  (John 16:13a)

 

“Sanctify them by the truth; Your word if truth.”  (John 17:17)

 

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – Who is forever praise, Amen.”  (Romans 1:25)

 

 

3.  PORTALS OF GLORY FOCUS

 

"For the earth (Missouri) will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea."  (Habakkuk 2:14)

*Declare this scripture over our state!

 

“Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and glow of flaming fire by night; over all the Glory will be a canopy.  It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.”  (Isaiah 4:5-6)

*Declare this scripture over our state; remember we are contending for the entire state to be a dwelling place for His Glorious Presence.  We are contending for full awakening that leads to reformation.  The ultimate goal is that His canopy of Glory becomes our permanent cover. 

 

“My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun.  In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to My name, because My name will be great among the nations,” says The LORD Almighty.  (Malachi 1:11)

*Declare this scripture over every church, home group, house of prayer, prayer gathering, prayer event, family prayer altar, office prayer meeting, government prayer meeting etc. in our state.

 

*SPECIAL SUMMER PORTALS OF GLORY FOCUS*

 

*Youth & Children’s Camps, VBS, Youth & Children’s Outreaches throughout our State

Find out about these events in your own city and region and siege them.  If they have already taken place, do a “Rear Guard” siege.

MO Prayer Global Mission will host our first children’s prayer camp in Kansas City this year.  Please watch for upcoming details. Please begin to siege this camp. The dates are August 8-10.

 

 

“But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”  (Luke 18:16)

The religious spirit works diligently in the church to hinder children from coming to JESUS.  Programs, entertainment and lack of spiritual activation of the gifts are part of this spirit’s strategy to keep our children in death rather than LIFE.  Even where there is an emphasis on child evangelization, which is a very good thing, there is often not much offered as far as leading them into a vibrant, Spirit-led relationship with their Lord.  There is often no provision made for the children to be trained and move in the gifts of The Spirit and church body ministry.

 

“People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, He was indignant.  He said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”  (Mark 10:13-14) Emphasis mine. 

 

The disciples themselves were under the influence of this religious spirit that targets children.  Many ministry leaders today are under the influence of this spirit.  Let us begin to target this spirit: 

 

*Praise and worship Jesus for His love of children.

*Confess and repent on behalf of the church for operating, even unknowingly, under the influence of this religious spirit.

*Confess and repent that we have hindered children from coming to Him to be touched.

*Confess and repent that we have not often considered this verse literally and really believed that the kingdom of God belongs to children.

*Pray for ministry leaders that the eyes of their understanding would be opened to see this spirit and how it has operated.

*Pray for righteous indignation against this spirit to arise in the church.

 

*Arise in faith through the Blood and Spirit and declare:

“Let the children of _______________(Missouri; such and such a camp; such and such a VBS, such and such a church, as The Spirit leads) come to JESUS and let them NOT BE HINDERED.”

 

*Declare:

“The kingdom of God belongs to the children of _______________________”.

 

*Pray for the leaders of the various camps, VBS etc. that they will yield to The Holy Spirit and let Him teach the children.

 

*Declare the following promise from the Scriptures for our children:

 “All your sons will taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace.”  (Isaiah 54:13)

 

It is important to understand one of the main reasons that the enemy has targeted children in this manner.  The scriptures give us insight:

 

“From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise because of Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.”  (Psalm 8:2)

 

The revelation is that God has actually ordained that the praises, prayers, prophetic words and proclamations that proceed from the lips of children SILENCE the foe AND the avenger!  Jesus quoted Psalm 8:2 to those who were operating under the religious spirit that targets children:

 

“But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things He did and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.  “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked Him.  “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise”?  (Matthew 21:15-16)

 

Psalm 127 confirms the Kingdom principle that children are POWERFUL against the enemy:

 

“Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.  They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.”  (Psalm 127:3-5)

 

The enemy is intimidated by children who are taught who they are in Christ and allowed to function in their God ordained ministry of praise, prayer and proclamation.  When the children begin to praise, the enemy is SILENCED.  No wonder he has worked to silence them!

 

Father, You are amazing!  You have ordained praise from the mouths of infants and young children.  You love each child.  Your heart is for each one to be taught by You, to come to You through Jesus, to know You intimately, to be released to take their place in Your congregation and to open their mouths and praise You.  In Your kingdom children should be seen and heard!  Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in earth regarding Your children! Amen.

 

*Call forth the pure praises, prayers and proclamations of The LORD from the mouths of our children!

*Welcome the voices of the children!

*RELEASE the children from the effects of the religious spirit that has worked to squelch them.

Dew is an important, actually essential source of water in the Bible.  It faithfully appears morning by morning.  This is the day of The LORD’s battle or power.  His Bride is arrayed in holy majesty and in this day, our youth are as dew to the church.  They are ESSENTIAL to the LIFE of The Bride.

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, and My blessing on your descendents.  They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.  One will say “I belong to the LORD” another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, “The LORD’s”, and will take the name Israel.”  (Isaiah 44:3-5)

Father, we bless this generation and this gathering and we pray that each one who attends will have a powerful faith encounter with The Most High that changes their face and the face of this nation.  Amen.

 

*Root 52 Prayer Strategy

-This is a one year call to repentance for our nation based on Isaiah 52 that is sponsored by the United States Reformation Prayer Network.  All 50 states are participating.  Each state takes the lead for one week and hosts worship/prayer events throughout their state as led by The Holy Spirit.

- Missouri’s week will be June 25 – July 2.  Pray that we will be prepared in heart for this important repentance before The Throne that includes all 50 states!

*"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."  (Proverbs 14:34)

Pray according to 1Tim 2:1-4 for our government leaders this summer.

 

*“The LORD reigns, He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength………..Your throne was established long ago; You are from all eternity.  Your statues stand firm; holiness adorns Your house for endless days, O LORD.”  (Psalm 93: 1a,2,5)

Psalm 93 is the foundational scripture for the Capital Prayer Team that prays each week at the Capital Building in Jefferson City.  We can join them in Spirit every Monday from 11am – 1pm.
