MO Prayer Intercessors' Guide May 24 - June 14
Date:
May 26th 2010
Welcome to our tri-weekly Intercessors' Prayer Guide for the State of Missouri. The strategy is to mobilize unified and focused prayer across the state that is aimed at just a few very specific targets. The targets are corporate in nature. They cover statewide, regional, city, national and inter-national issues that require the power of corporate agreement. We will focus on these targets for three-week periods. We believe there will be tremendous breakthrough as we siege these targets together for 21 day periods.
Missouri Prayer Global Mission
Shalom Missouri Prayer Intercessors,
“Then Moses said, now show me Your glory.” (Exodus 33:18)
The Holy Spirit has identified Missouri as the “Show me Your Glory” State.
Holy Spirit, please give us deeper revelation of what this means.
Let us begin to consider the full context in which Moses, who was a type of Messiah, made this request to The LORD. The following is a more detailed teaching than usual in our Intercessors’ Guide. This is in order to help us gain greater understanding of our call and function as the “Show Me Your Glory” State.
We thank and bless each one of you who intercedes with us. We thank God for you.
Let us begin by looking at a crucial incident that occurred before Moses made the request to be shown the glory of The LORD. Exodus 32 records the heartbreaking sin of idolatry committed by the Israelites while Moses was on the mountain. In anger, Moses threw down the tablets and broke them as a prophetic picture of the breaking of the covenant on the part of the people. The people had heard the Ten Commandments from the voice of God Himself at Sinai (Exodus 19-20). Then they heard more detailed instructions from The LORD regarding relationships, social responsibilities, justice, Sabbath laws, and the Feasts through the mouth of Moses (Exodus 21 – 23). Next, Moses wrote down everything The LORD had spoken thus far (Exodus 24:4). He offered sacrifices to The LORD and sprinkled half of the blood from the sacrifices on the altar, as a prophetic picture that our worship must be offered through blood – a type of The Blood of Jesus. After that he read all of the words of The LORD that he had written down to the assembled people. These words were called The Book of The Covenant (Exodus 24:7). The people responded “We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey.” (Exodus 24:7). Then Moses took the other half of the blood from the sacrifices and sprinkled it on the people (Exodus 24:8). He spoke these words “This is the blood of the covenant that The LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.” (Exodus 24:8). Thus Israel was in Blood Covenant with the LORD before Moses went up on the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments that they had heard from His own voice. Furthermore, seventy elders had accompanied Moses, Aaron and his two sons to a meeting with The God of Israel. They ate and drank with God and experienced His Love and Mercy (Exodus 24:9-11).
After all these things had happened, Moses went up on the mountain to receive the tablets. We can see that The LORD had thoroughly prepared the people and entered into covenant with them before Moses went up. There was truly no excuse for the idolatry.
Now, with this foundation of understanding, we return to the point where Moses breaks the tablets. He also burned the golden calf in the fire and ground it to fine powder. He scattered this powder on the water and made the Israelites drink it (Exodus 32:20). I once read an account by a chemist who had figured out scientifically that the ground gold powder added to the amount of water that would be needed to give drink to all the Israelites would have the effect of turning the water blood red. Remember the water they were drinking issued from the Rock that was with them (Exodus 17), and the “Rock was Christ.” (1Cor10:4). Thus we have the picture of the B
lood flowing from the Messiah that was necessary to deal with sin. Since all of the Israelites had answered in one accord that “they would obey the LORD” and the blood had been sprinkled on them all, each one was accountable before The LORD.
We will not go into detail at this point about the selection of Levi as priests or the grievous necessity of removing those who were probably the leaders in the act of the idolatry (Exodus 32:25-29). We learn that there were about 3,000 who were directly responsible in leading the idolatry and were removed by death. We see that the nation was still accountable before The LORD because of many who “followed the leaders” and participated or others who simply “looked the other way”. This understanding is crucial to our day and to our intercession for our state, our nation, Israel, and the nations because the situation is the same. We must pay close attention to Moses’ actions at this point.
The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to The LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.” (Exodus 32:30)
Moses has overcome his anger and is willing to take the responsibility to intercede for the nation although the sin is great. Beloved ones, we are called to be like Moses the intercessor. We are called to overcome our fleshly anger at those who are leading the state/nation/nations into sin and take the responsibility to intercede. Although we are also without excuse, just like the Israelites, we do not accuse, condemn or lose heart. We trust in the Mercy of The LORD and approach His Throne of Grace. We do this not in our own strength or righteousness, but HIS; nonetheless we make a choice to go apart from the everyday affairs of life on behalf of our state, other states, our nation and other nations who are in desperate situations before The LORD. We know that we will not make atonement; we know that this has been done by JESUS; however He is looking for those who will come before The Father to remind Him of the Atonement of Jesus on behalf of those who are need.
“So Moses went back to The LORD and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin – but if not, then blot me out of the book You have written.” (Exodus 32:31)
Moses has stepped into a very high and holy level of intercession. He is literally willing to take the punishment that is due to the people. He understood the need for an atonement that was more perfect than the blood of bulls and goats and he was willing to be the answer to that need.
This is the character and essence of the one who asked of The LORD, “Now show me Your glory.” He had come into a position before The LORD where he could ask such a thing and receive it. He relied on the blood and he had been willing to lay down his life for Israel. He wanted to see the glory so that he could lead the people well. His motives were selfless.
We know that Moses was not the Only Begotten Sinless Son who could be the Lamb of God. We know that only Jesus could be the perfect atonement and that He has done this. We know that Jesus Himself has come into the HIGHEST position of intercession at the right hand of The Father and that all is released through Him. However, there is still a need for those who come to a place of selflessness which enables them to be willing to even literally lay down their lives on behalf of those for whom they pray. This is the nature of the intercession call on a state that has been identified as the “Show me Your Glory” state. What a high calling. What an honor.
Our Father in Heaven, show us the glory of Your name. We offer ourselves afresh to You as a living sacrifice. Conform us to the image of our High Intercessor, our High Priest, Who is Jesus Christ, Who did literally give His life for us and for the whole world. Father, we remember His words as He was approaching Glory on the cross – “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” May we always offer our intercession through faith in His Blood and may the power of His resurrection work mightily in us to bring us to the place where we willingly share in His sufferings on behalf of others. Help us to draw closer in selfless intercession that releases Your glory without measure.&n
bsp; Thank You, Father. Amen.
Please bear with the extra amount of teaching contained in this 21 day Guide. There will be a bit of extra teaching with the Gatekeeper State Prayer Focus. The Holy Spirit has made it clear that as Gatekeepers for our nation, we need to take a firm stand in intercession for the nation of Israel at this time and forward. We will begin to lay a firm scriptural foundation and build upon that in future Intercessors’ Guides.
We value your questions, comments, insights, visions etc. Please continue to share as we pray together by emailing: intercession@missouriprayer.com. Psalm 24
"Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors that the King of Glory may come in.” (Psalm 24:1-6)
Missouri Gatekeepers, it is time for us to take a unified and firm stand with the following Truth. We chose the Spirit of Truth in our state with Foundational Decision #3! Let us release the Spirit of Truth regarding the God’s relationship with the nation of Israel. Proclaim this loud and clear:
“And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins.” (Romans 11:26-27)
Romans 11:27 quotes the following scriptures. Proclaim these scriptures for Israel:
*Isaiah 59:20-21
*Isaiah 27:9
*Jeremiah 31:33-34
Missouri Intercessors, it is time to intercede for Israel according to the pattern of Moses. Right now, as prophesied in the scriptures, Israel is being threatened with annihilation by her enemies (Psalm 83:1-8) and (Psalm 2:1-3). These are real threats that have teeth behind them and the world is turning a deaf ear. In fact, most of the world is condemning Israel as the source of all the problems. Beloved, we are not of the world. We are of The Most High God. The Most High is watching over Israel (Psalm 121). He is watching over Israel for her good (Jer. 31:10-11; Amos 9:14-15).
*Declare the scripture references in the paragraph above. They will be a mighty weapon in the spiritual realm to bring down the wicked plans of the enemy to destroy Israel. It is truly essential that we rise up at this time – it is possible that war will break out sometime this summer. We cannot sleep or turn a blind eye and deaf ear to Israel. The battle is The LORD’s but He relies on the intercession of His saints to release His power into the earth realm.
Father, we come before You today through the Blood of Jesus, Who is The King of Israel. Father, as Intercessors and Gatekeepers from the state that has a covenant root with Israel through the actions of President Truman, we affirm our agreement with You, as found throughout Your scriptures, that the people of Israel have begun to return to their Covenant Promised Land through the power of Your Spirit that worked through human agents. We agree that Your plan is to prosper them in this Land. We agree that this is part of Your plan for the restoration of all the nations according to Romans 11:11-15. We will take our stand as Watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6-7) and we will not keep silent (Isaiah 62:1). On behalf of Jerusalem we will cry out from Miss
ouri until her righteousness shines forth like the dawn and her salvation like a blazing torch (Isaiah 62:1-2). Amen.
Most of Israel is still in unbelief regarding Messiah and commits great sin against The LORD on a daily basis (the high abortion rate is one example). Yet, according to the scriptures, The LORD still has a call and destiny on Israel as a nation (Jer. 31:35; Romans 11:29), still loves Israel with a deep abiding love (Jer. 31:37; Romans 11:28) and is looking for intercessors who will give selflessly of themselves to give birth to Israel’s prophesied fullness in The LORD <
b>(Romans 11:30-31). Israel needs our confident and fervent prayers based on the promises of God’s Word that He will reveal His Son to them and draw them to Himself, despite the fact that most of them are enemies of The Gospel at this time.
“I speak the truth in Messiah – I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit – I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish myself accursed and cut off from Messiah for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel.” (Romans 9:1-3)
“Brothers my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.” (Romans 10:1)
We see that Paul, like Moses, was in that high holy place of intercession for the nation of Israel. He was willing to lay down his own life, even willing to be accursed on their behalf. This is the man who opened his heart to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. Through the obedience of this man to go to the Gentiles, we have heard the Good News. May we open our hearts to continue to carry his burden for the people of Israel.
This specific Intercession/Gatekeeper assignment is essential for Israel and also for the USA. There are influential people in The USA who are currently among those who are against Israel. This stance does not bode well for the USA. Our position of intercession will not only affect Israel, but the USA as well. In regard to the USA, we are taking a stand in the pattern of Numbers 16:46-50. We will share in more detail about that in the future.
2. FOUNDATIONAL DECISION FOCUS:
We begin afresh with our five foundational decisions. The LORD has given strategy to continue to reinforce these spiritual foundations of our state and ask Him to continue to build upon them. It is fitting that we are targeting the first decision based on Exodus 33, which ties in with our teaching about our state’s intercessory nature. For those who may be new to this Intercessors’ Guide or who do not know the history behind the prophetic word regarding “Show Me Your Glory”, please refer to the archives of the Intercession Guides on the website. You will find a brief explanation in the Foundational Decision Focus of the February 8 – March 1 edition.
In October of 2000, the first of five foundational decisions for Missouri was decreed in Boliver. Decision Number One states:
We choose the Presence of God and not the programs of men based on Exodus 33.
"Then Moses said, "Now show me Your glory." (Exodus 33:18)
*Let us continue to confirm our agreement with this foundational decision and ask The LORD to build His kingdom upon the firm foundations He has given us.
*Let us minister to Him by telling Him over and over that we prefer His Presence to programs.
*Let us meditate on Exodus 33. As we have shared above, we see that Moses was not asking to see Father's glory for his own personal benefit. He wants to know the ways of The LORD so that he can find even greater favor with Him, which will enable him to lead the people in a way that brings glory to The LORD. He is concerned about the reputation of The LORD. Living in The Glory requires humility and obedience.
*Pray for all of us to have humble and obedient hearts.
*Let us speak the decision from pure hearts into the unseen realm. Let us give our Father glory.
3. PORTALS OF GLORY FOCUS
"For the earth (Missouri) will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)
*Declare this scripture over our state!
“Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and glow of flaming fire by night; over all the Glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.” (Isaiah 4:5-6)
*Declare this scripture over our state; remember we are contending for the entire state to be a dwelling place for His Glorious Presence. We are contending for full awakening that leads to reformation. The ultimate goal is that His canopy of Glory becomes our permanent cover.
“My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to My name, because My name will be great among the nations,” says The LORD Almighty. (Malachi 1:11)
*Declare this scripture over every church, home group, house of prayer, prayer gathering, prayer event, family prayer altar, office prayer meeting, government prayer meeting etc. in our state.
The LORD is not only birthing and maturing places of worship and intercession that are Portals of His Glory at this time, but HE IS FORMING A CANOPY OF GLORY OVER THE ENTIRE STATE BY CONNECTING THESE PORTALS!
*Let us thank and praise Him for these “places” (listed below) where pure incense has been offered in the past weeks in our state.
*Let us pray that what was released in each place will continue to be released.
*Let us pray that HE WILL INCREASE HIS WORK OF CONNECTING ONE RELEASE TO ANOTHER TO CREATE THE CANOPY OF GLORY.
*Apostolic Dominion for Signs and Wonders Tour
We thank The LORD for Robert Henderson and the powerful release throughout our state during the days of May 1-6. Let us reinforce the following decree made be Regina during the tour:
“As gatekeepers in the Gatekeeper State, we open the gates to signs, wonders, miracles and healings. We welcome these manifestations of The Kingdom and the door will not be closed on our watch.”
*National Day of Prayer Observances throughout our state
-Pray that the new Godly connections that were formed during the planning and presenting of NDP events will bear fruit.
*Global Day of Prayer Observances throughout our state
-Pray that The Holy Spirit Fire of Pentecost that was released on GDOP will spread.
*Operation Rolling Thunder
-Pray that this Holy Spirit inspired strategy to mobilize 24/7 prayer coverage for cities and regions will be embraced in our state.
-Thank Him for the cities, counties and regions that participated this year between the NDP and GDOP.
-Visit the website www.watchmanministries.com for more information regarding Operation Rolling Thunder.
*Root 52 Prayer Strategy
-This is a one year call to repentance for our nation based on Isaiah 52 that is sponsored by the United States Reformation Prayer Network. All 50 states are participating. Each state takes the lead for one week and hosts worship/prayer events throughout their state as led by The Holy Spirit.
- Missouri’s week will be June 25 – July 2. Pray that we will be prepared in heart for this important repentance before The Throne that includes all 50 states!
- Pastors Enos and Diane Chamberlain are facilitating Missouri’s participation in Root 52. Please cover them in prayer as the time draws closer.

4. CAPITOL PRAYER
*"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." (Proverbs 14:34)
HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!
We give thanks and praise to our LORD, Who did indeed hear our cries and answer quickly!
Thank you, faithful intercessors, for responding to the call to pray during the final hours of the legislative session before summer break when so many crucial bills needed attention.
“The LORD lives! Praise be to our Rock! Exalted be God our Savior!” (Psalm 18:46)
This call went out for prayer:
Pray for the Ultrasound Bill as it is in the final stages in the MO senate. It has passed the house, now waiting for the Senate. Pray for favor and safe passage in the Senate.
HALLELUJAH! THE ANSWER CAME. The Following is a report from Missouri Right to Life. Please continue to pray for the legislators mentioned and for signature by Governor Nixon:
· Good news! On Friday, May 14, the Missouri Legislature passed legislation that will significantly increase the information that a woman receives before deciding on abortion and allows Missouri to exclude abortion coverage from federal health insurance exchanges.
Missouri Right to Life applauds the Missouri House for passage of SB 793. This legislation ensures that a woman is given the opportunity to view an ultrasound of her unborn child and receives information about her child’s development 24 hours before an abortion is performed. She also will receive information on alternatives to abortion and the father’s responsibility under state law. This legislation will save lives and allow a woman to be more fully informed before making a life or death decision for her child.
· In addition, this bill bans taxpayer-funding of elective abortion coverage in federal health insurance exchanges. This language is critical in protecting lives and the rights of pro-life Missouri taxpayers.
We want to thank Senator Rob Mayer and Representatives Bryan Pratt and Cynthia Davis for their work over the last several years on this important pro-life legislation. We also want to thank all the Senators and House members who supported this legislation with their vote.
The bi-partisan vote in the Missouri House now advances this life-saving legislation to Governor Jay Nixon. We ask for his swift action in signing SB 793 into law.
HALLELUJAH! THE ANSWER CAME. The following is a report from CWA Missouri. Please continue to pray for a HEART LEVEL change in Missouri (Matthew 5:27-28). Also pray for the legislators mentioned and for the Governor to sign.
We are rejoicing! SB586 passes both chambers of the Missouri General Assembly and will now go to the Governor for his signature. o
Missouri Community Protection Act- SB586 - regulating sexually oriented businesses
Thank you to all contacted Rep. Steve Tilley's office regarding SB586 http://www.senate.mo.gov/10info/pdf-bill/hcs/SB586.pdf.
Rep. Tilley is the Floor Leader in the House and in the last two weeks of session is the most sought out individual in the House - everybody wants their bill to be brought up next. Rep. Tilley (R-Perryville) did bring SB586 to the floor on Thursday afternoon-(May 6), then again on Wednesday night (May 12) and again this morning (May 13) with the final passage of the bill just before noon. The vote was 118 ayes and 28 nays. (If you would like to call and thank Rep. Tilley, that would be in order. His number is 573-751-1488)
There were many voices urging the House leadership not to bring SB586 to a vote. We thank Rep. Tilley for dealing with the issue honorably. We acknowledge the statesmanlike manner in which Rep. Ed Emery handled the bill. He is truly an asset here at the Capitol building. He is a man of character and faith and conducts his ways with honor and on principle.
The bill had to go back to the Senate where it was up to Sen. Kevin Engler (R-Farmington), the Senate Floor Leader, to bring SB586 to the floor. Sen. Engler brought it up immediately after the supper break and SB586 was voted on and passed before 8 p.m! The vote was 27 ayes to 4 nays. (It would be great for you to call Sen. Engler to thank him for bringing SB586 to the floor of the Senate in time for it to pass before the session ended tonight at 6 p.m. His number is 573-751-3455.)
The Missouri General Assembly did a very good thing for all of Missouri by passing SB586 - the Misouri Community Protection Act. We acknowledge and thank Sen. Matt Bartle (R-Lees Summit) and Rep. Ed Emery (R-Lamar) for their sponsorship and leadership on this issue. Their principled leadership and persistence remind me of another statesman - William Wilberforce -who took on a right but very unpopular issue and stayed with it until the end.

*“The LORD reigns, He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength………..Your throne was established long ago; You are from all eternity. Your statues stand firm; holiness adorns Your house for endless days, O LORD.” (Psalm 93: 1a,2,5)
Psalm 93 is the foundational scripture for the Capital Prayer Team that prays each week at the Capital Building in Jefferson City. We can join them in Spirit every Monday from 11am – 1pm.
“Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Saints.” (Ephesians 6:18)
