Welcome to our tri-weekly Intercessors' Prayer Guide for the State of Missouri. The strategy is to mobilize unified and focused prayer across the state that is aimed at just a few very specific targets.  The targets are corporate in nature.  They cover statewide, regional, city and national issues that require the power of corporate agreement.  We will focus on these targets for three-week periods.  We believe there will be tremendous breakthrough as we siege these targets together for 21 day periods.

April 12  – May 3 2010

 

Shalom Missouri Prayer Intercessors,

 

“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”  (Genesis 1:3)

 

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  (John 8:12)

 

“But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.  This is why it is said: “Awake, O sleeper, rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you.”  (Ephesians 5:13-14, emphasis mine)

 

“For God, Who said, “Let light shine out of darkness” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”  (2Cor 4:6)

 

HALLELUJAH!  The Light of The LORD is shining in the hearts of Missouri!  The Body of Christ is waking up more and more every day!  We are arising from the dead!  The glory of the face of Jesus is illuminating us!

 

“Father, we love You; You are Light.  In You there is no darkness.  We desire the Light of Life.  Let Your Light Be in Missouri!  Let there be Light in Missouri.  Let there be Light for our state legislators!  Let there be Light for the Body of Christ who is praying for our legislators and the Budget Crisis.  Let there be Light for those all around our nation who are praying now for Missouri.  Thank You, Father, for the Light.  Let the Light expose all that has been hidden so that we can eliminate those th ings that offend You.  We choose the Light of Life.  Amen.”

 

The LORD has brought Missouri to the attention of many in The Body of Christ in the USA.  He is showing His Glory to us now.  He is showing His faithful loving kindness.  He is showing His mercy.  He is showing Who He said He was when Moses asked to see His Glory (Exodus 34:6)   

 

It was a great encouragement to be among about 500 people who came together at the State Capital on March 29.  This was the beginning of 40 days of prayer and fasting for our state legislature, which is facing a budget crisis.  People prayer-walked the halls and grounds of the Capital during the morning.  There was outdoor worship on the capital steps.  We were able to release our praises and prophetic worship so that all could hear.  We gathered at noon in and around the rotunda for a 90-minute time of exhortation and repentance.  You can hear the speech given by Anne Graham Lotz at www.annegrahamlotz.com.  You can also sign up to receive daily scriptures and prayers from her for th e 40-Day Prayer and Fasting.

 

“Pray continually;”  (1Thes 5:17)

 

“Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”  (Luke 18:1)

 

Luke 18:1-8 is very familiar to most intercessors.  We encourage you to read it again.  The LORD will give us fresh anointing and fresh vision as we look at this passage again.  Our Lord exhorts us to persevere at importune times.  This is an importune time for us here in Missouri.  Let us continue to lay hold of The LORD for the rest of the 40-day period.

 

*THE 40 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING FOR THE BUDGET CRISIS IS THE FOREMOST PRAYER FOCUS FOR US RIGHT NOW. 

 

The 40 days ends on May 7, which is the day the budget is due.  It is also the day after The National Day of Prayer.  The Holy Spirit is empowering a mighty wave of intercession to swell in our state that will have tremendous results.

 

The LOVE OF THE FATHER and THE LIGHT OF JESUS are focused like a LASER BEAM upon us.  Hallelujah!  Arise and shine, mighty ones!

1.  Gatekeeper State Focus

"Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors that the King of Glory may come in.” (Psalm 24:1-6)

 

 

Missouri Legislature Request

We dedicated the prior three-week period to petitioning The Lord according to the requests of our legislators.  Please refer to that Prayer Guide (March 22 – April 12) for those petitions.  We should continue in those requests as The LORD leads.  However, the answers to those requests are beginning to be released to us and now it is time for us to open the gates and to usher in what we are requesting.  We can begin to decree and release!  Hallelujah! 

 

Father, we lift up our heads, we the ancient doors are lifted up that You, The King of Glory, may come in bringing with You the answers to our prayers!  Hallelujah!

 

Personalize all these declarations toward our state government:

 

1. Wisdom

 

We welcome Wisdom to Missouri and say that now in Missouri:

 

*“Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, in the gateways of the city she makes her speech”  (Proverbs 1:20-21)

 

*”Wisdom builds her house, she hews out its seven pillars.  She prepares her meat and mixes her wine.  She sets her table.  She sends out her maidens and she calls from the highest point of the city.”  (Proverbs 9:1-3)

 

*The Spirit of The LORD rests upon us – The Spirit of Wisdom and of Understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of The LORD”  (Isaiah 11:2)

 

Make declarations out of other scriptures:  Proverbs chapters 1,2,3,4,8,9.   Use the many other scriptures throughout Proverbs. , Daniel 12:3, 1Corinthians chapters 1, 2, and 3. 

 

2. Patience

     We welcome Patience into Missouri and we say:

 

*“Perseverance (Patience) will finish its work so that we will be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  (James 1:4)

 

*”Through faith and patience we will inherit what has been promised.”  (Hebrews 6:12)”

 

*”Patience now produces character in us.”  (Romans 5:4)

 

3. Pure Motives

 

We welcome purity into Missouri and we say:

 

   *”Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,”  (Daniel 12:10a)

 

*“The LORD will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; He will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a Spirit of judgment and a Spirit of fire.”  (Isaiah 4:4)

 

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.”  (Matthew 5:8)

 

 

4. Solutions

 

       We welcome the solutions of The LORD into Missouri:

*“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be on His shoulders.  And He will called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.”  (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Father, we thank You for the increase of the government and the peace of Jesus Christ being released into the Missouri state government.  We thank You that His government brings solutions that establish peace. 

 

 

 3.  FOUNDATIONAL DECISION FOCUS:

 

The fourth of the five spiritual foundational decisions for Missouri was made on April 20, 2002 in Cape Girardeau. 

 

Let us renew and strengthen our commitment to this decision.  May this decision itself produce fruit in The Body of Christ and spread to every sphere in Missouri.

 

Decision Number Four states:

 

We choose to operate by the fruits of the Spirit and not the works of the flesh based on Galatians 5. 

 

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.”  (Galatians 5:24)

 

*Let us pray that Pastors will preach with compassion and the fire of The Spirit regarding the power Jesus has given to us to crucify the flesh nature.  This is the key to operating by the fruits of the Spirit.  It must begin with The Body of Christ.

 

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.”  (Galatians 5:22-23)

 

*Let us pray that we will tend the gardens of our hearts well.  Let us pray and contend for good soil in our hearts; let us pray and contend for opening our hearts to the rain, sunshine, weeding, fertilizing etc. of our Father so that the Fruit of The Spirit is produced in abundance in our hearts.

 

 

4.  PORTALS OF GLORY FOCUS

 

"For the earth (Missouri) will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea."  (Habakkuk 2:14)

Declare this scripture over our state!

 

Please refer to the prior Prayer Guide for the list of identified portals.  Let us continue in intercession for the identified portals of glory in our state.  Every outward manifestation is directly connected to the intercession that has been and continues to be offered (Revelation 8:5).  We are contending for an entire state to be a dwelling place for His Glorious Presence.  We are contending for full awakening that leads to reformation.  The ultimate goal is that His canopy of Glory becomes our permanent cover.  (Isaiah 4)

  

Let us focus on the following two events that will take place during this three-week period.  We believe that The LORD wants to release Great Glory through these gatherings.  Please refer to the website for more information on each one. 

 

PRAY THAT EACH OF THESE WILL BE PORTALS OF GLORY THAT WILL HELP TRANSFORM OUR STATE AND THE NATION:

5.  REGION FOCUS

 

We will focus on Missouri Prayer Region Six for this three-week period.  We have chosen this Region because Jefferson City is located here.  The Missouri Prayer Women’s Conference will also take place in this Region at The Latter House, which is pastured by our Missouri Prayer Region Six Leaders. 

 

*LET THERE BE LIGHT IN REGION SIX

*Let The Light and Glory of The LORD flood this Region and loose the people from the political/religious spirit that has had control of Jefferson City.

*Let our Government be set free from serving the works of the flesh (Decision 4)

*Let our Government be loosed into operating by the fruits of The Spirit

Father, we pray for Pastors Enos and Diane according to Ephesians 1:15-19.  We will not stop giving You thanks for them; for their faith in You and their love for all the saints.  We ask You, Glorious Father, to give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may know You better.  We pray that the eyes of their hearts will be enlightened in order that they may know the hope to which they have been called, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in them, and Your incomparably great power toward them – the power that is like the working of Your mighty strength which You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead!  Thank You, Father, may everything they put their hands to prosper.  We bless them and their precious congregation.  Amen.

 

 

6.  CAPITAL PRAYER

 

For this month’s capital prayer please focus on the 40-Days of Prayer and Fasting for the State Legislature.
